Letter To My Grandchild:
You aren’t born yet, I don’t even believe you are a thought yet, but I’m writing this letter for you to open on this special day; your 18th birthday. The world is a scary place. There are perks and disadvantages to being 18, you’ll find that out soon enough. Responsibility is huge right now, many decisions you make now are classified under adult decisions. Be careful, but also enjoy this time as it’s one of the most exciting and changing points of your life, at least for me it is.
I am currently 18 years old writing this for you. I go to school at Notre Dame de la Baie Academy in Green Bay. The date I am writing this is 5/6/15. Everything seems really advanced in technology, but I’m sure your generation will change even more things for the better. Gas prices are currently $2.40, but they were almost $4.50 as of last year. It will be interesting to see what the prices will be on your 18th birthday considering the world is running out of oil. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to enjoy the moments you have now. Do not ever let anyone stand in the way of your fun. Participate in sports, read a book, learn something, ride a bike, do whatever you want in these years because the opportunities are out there. I made mistakes in my teenage years, and I’m sure you will too. It is just part of the learning curve so accept it and live your life.
